Submit your project, convince us, charm Carnaval’s audience with your performance and win a monetary prize, but most of all gain the recognition of the festival’s audiences!

Who is it for?
Buskers, circus artists and street performers are invited to apply. From all the submissions, we will select a few shows whose creators will perform in the most attractive festival locations.

When?

We’re waiting for submissions until 26 June 2022!
Results of the open call: no later than 4 July 2022
Live performances in Lublin: 28-31 July 2022
Why is it worth it?
Carnaval Sztukmistrzów, the largest Polish festival presenting new circus, acrobatics and clowning is a time when street performers and circus arts masters from around the world come to Lublin to present breathtaking acts.

Your hat is your fee
For the last 12 years, the audiences of Carnaval Sztukmistrzów have been enthusiastically welcoming buskers, attending the shows in large numbers and rewarding the artists with generous donations to the hat. Over 100,000 spectators visit our festival every year.

The Financial Prize
This year, busker shows will have a chance to win a financial prize of PLN 3,000. The audience will select the winner by voting via an online application.

Recognition
All artists selected in the open call will be included in the festival’s official programme and promoted in Carnaval’s printed brochures and online.

What are the conditions of participation?

we provide the performance venue and basic technical equipment (in accordance with the rider)
we provide accommodation and meals and reimburse travel costs up to 500 plnWe do not pay fees!
How to apply?
If you accept our terms and you are interested in taking part in the festival, please submit your application online, in which we ask you to provide:

a short description of your show and a few words about yourself
photos/videos/trailers of the show (we prefer videos)
technical rider or information about technical requirements
submitting video footage is not an essential condition but it increases your chances of getting selected.
We favour premieres or shows that have not previously been featured in the official Carnaval Sztukmistrzów programme. We also want to see shows that are related to the circus, incorporate circus components (disciplines, props), or thematically refer to the circus as a circus festival.

Selected performers will receive an invitation to the festival.
