Bindlestiff Family Cirkus presents A Night at Niblo's Garden - Performing Arts Events - StageLync

A Night at Niblo’s Garden with Bindlestiff Family Cirkus

Two enchanting evenings of Victorian amusements and spectacle at this re-creation of New York City’s premier 19th-century theater

July 13 & 14, 7pm – 9pm
at Brooklyn’s historic Green-Wood Cemetery
Purchase Tickets: http://bindlestiff.org/niblosgarden

This popular event is back in 2018 for two nights! On Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14, Green-Wood Cemetery will transform into a 19th-century pleasure garden and theater. Begin the evening with a twilight picnic (bring your own) around beautiful Crescent Water pond. Those arriving early are invited to play Victorian amusements including graces, shuttlecocks, and wooden rolling hoops. Then prepare to be dazzled by nineteenth-century showmanship: fire eaters, musicians, contortionists, performers on floats, and much more – all under the starry summer skies. The evening celebrates Green-Wood permanent resident William Niblo, whose Niblo’s Garden was once one of New York City’s largest and most elaborate theaters (at Prince and Broadway in SoHo) replete with sparkling lanterns, fountains, and an open-air restaurant and bar that featured the top musicians, dancers, and entertainers of the time.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and picnic dinners.

$40 / $35 for members of Green-Wood and Brooklyn Historical Society
