Autobiographical Writing for circus artists with Laura Murphy - Performing Arts Events - StageLync
Hear about Laura's performance-making practice and gain insight into her process in this part artist talk, part practical workshop.
Laura will share clips of her solo show 'Contra', and research film 'A Spectacle of Herself' and will discuss her making process over these projects.
She will also talk about her PhD research which has informed both of these creative projects and her approach to creating performance work.

Open to physical performers and circus artists of all disciplines.

Participants will be guided through creative writing exercises and devising skills to generate material, and unlock a new direction in their approach to making work. Aerial and other kit will be available but won't be the focus of the workshop.

Laura has run writing workshops for circus groups and at circus schools in Europe. She is experienced in helping people to start working with autobiographical material in a safe and supported environment.

Content warning: video material shown in the workshop may contain nudity, swearing and references to sexual violence

If you wish to book onto both of Laura's workshops please email for a discount code.
