Laura’s practice as a rope artist is grounded in both a desire to explore technical aerial choreography, whilst also using aerial rope within her contemporary theatre practice. Workshop participants will have insight into Laura’s choreographic repertoire, learn moves & sequences, and develop skills to use within their own creative work.

Not suitable for beginners
Age 16+

Laura is also running 'Autobiographical Writing for circus artists with Laura Murphy' at 3:30pm – 5:30pm, Friday 23 June.

Hear about Laura's performance-making practice and gain insight into her process in this part artist talk, part practical workshop.

Laura will share clips of her solo show 'Contra', and research film 'A Spectacle of Herself' and will discuss her making process over these projects.

She will also talk about her PhD research which has informed both of these creative projects and her approach to creating performance work.

Open to physical performers and circus artists of all disciplines.

Participants will be guided through creative writing exercises and devising skills to generate material, and unlock a new direction in their approach to making work. Aerial and other kit will be available but won't be the focus of the workshop.

Laura has run writing workshops for circus groups and at circus schools in Europe. She is experienced in helping people to start working with autobiographical material in a safe and supported environment.

If you wish to book on to both of Laura's workshops please email for a discount code.
