Aerial Masterclass by One Thousand Faces


The One Thousand Faces collective is defined by the diversity of its members, and just as in our show Terra we aim to share our four different worlds, we're excited to translate this diversity into an immersive experience. The One Thousand Faces Aerial Masterclass is a space where each of us will share with the participants aspects of our individual work and research, but unified into a single experience.
On the 9th of November, we invite you to an 8-hour intensive immersion in aerial practice led by the One Thousand Faces collective. During the masterclass, we will explore various topics such as technique and biomechanics, creative exploration, fluidity in movement, and the joy in aerial practice.


Session 1: Aerial Movement Technique - with Georgina
Begin with Vertical Aerials Technique with Georgina as she lays the foundation for your aerial practice. Drawing from her circus training and Pilates expertise, she will refine your vertical aerial skills, instilling a deep understanding of technique and biomechanics. As you ascend with grace and precision, you'll cultivate the core strength and fluidity necessary for aerial mastery.
Session 2: Composition- with Marta
Transitioning into Marta’s Composition workshop, where we tap into our creative potential, making the most of the skills we already possess. We will closely examine the materials we already have approaching them from various angles and perspectives. We will analyze them, understand them, break them down and create something new out of them. Through a fusion of technical exploration and creative experimentation, you'll unlock new dimensions of movement and create your own aerial vocabulary.
Session 3: Fusion Flow - with Dóri
Continue your aerial adventure with Dori's Fusion Flow workshop, where the boundaries between ground and air dissolve. Drawing inspiration from contemporary dance, she guides you through a journey of creative exploration and self-expression. Experience the seamless integration of movement qualities as you navigate from the ground to the air, forging a deeply personal connection with the aerial apparatus.
Session 4: Aerial Playground - with Réka
In the last aerial workshop you can explore aerial games designed to cultivate a playful and collaborative approach to aerial training and creation. You'll rediscover that aerial practice can be a highly social and fun activity, just like you experienced playing on the playground as a child. The workshop inspires, forges connections with fellow aerialists, and rediscovers the pure joy of aerial movement.
