#CircusVoices residency - Performing Arts Events - StageLync
#CircusVoices is back! Here's your chance to visit Edinburgh Festival Fringe with us, to see and talk about the variety of work on offer, & to explore different ways circus ideas can be expressed and shared. We are delighted to offer up to four places for circus professionals on this week-long residency from 9-15th August, in partnership with Network of Independent Critics and Circus Futures. Being a writer is not a prerequisite, but understanding circus is!

Conversations around circus in the mainstream media are often dominated by romantic fantasy or by the perspectives of other art forms - circus may intersect with theatre, dance, and live art, but it has its own unique character which is often overlooked - and the knowledge and confidence to talk about our artform in a critically engaged way is still lagging behind. Building a vocabulary to speak about circus in a meaningful way is essential for artists looking to promote their work, and for collaborators hoping to build projects together effectively. Informed reviews are also vital to circus artists hoping to grow audiences and connect with developments in the field.

If you are keen to develop your skills in this area, email [email protected] with ‘circus’ in the subject field to receive an application pack. Closing date is 27th May.
