American Entertainer and Creative Director, Zbu began her creative career in 2015 with Nubian Spin, Washington D.C.’s all-Black female hoop troupe. In 2019, inspired by the Year of Return initiative, she relocated to Accra, Ghana, quickly establishing herself as an influential figure in the city’s vibrant entertainment scene. Her captivating nightclub performances, unique craftsmanship in hoop movement, and appearances in music videos alongside Afrobeat sensations such as Wendy Shay, Kidi, and Kwesi Arthur earned her the affectionate title of “the Hula Hoop Girl.”
In 2020, Zbu launched Zbu Entertainment, partnering with the late Jerry One, a celebrated Ghanaian dancer and choreographer. Together, they created dynamic and immersive performances that combined hula hoop dance, fire breathing, acrobatics, and storytelling. Their collaborations gained attention from major international brands like Volkswagen and featured prominently at high-profile events, including Chance the Rapper’s Black Star Line Festival. Zbu continues to push artistic boundaries, fueled by her passion to deliver unforgettable experiences.
In 2023, Zbu survived a life-altering accident, forcing her to pause and rehabilitate. Now based in the United Staes, she returned to the stage at the 2025 Portland Juggling Festival with a performance defined by rhythmic body control, object manipulation, magnetism, and resilience—making the impossible possible through hoop dance.
