Valerie Ann Sealey (aka Valerie Solstix) is a highly skilled circus and fire performer, focusing on object manipulation, such as staff manipulation, fire spinning, and contact juggling.
Born in California, she is based in Berlin, Germany and has a lot to offer.
Contact Staff
The staff glides magically fluid around her body, as if exempt from the laws of gravity. A contact dance where the inanimate object comes alive. They move together and make each other move, become one.
Paddle
What in the world will she do with a paddle? Surprise, apparently a lot, as she spins it on her feet and flips it around her body. An everyday object with a new splash. Don't try this next time you're on a boat, you may find yourself up a creek without a paddle!
Animation
An elf, inviting people into her world, astounding guests by manipulating her floating crystal ball, which is moving as if controlled by magic. Valerie Solstix will turn your event into something extra special. She will interact with your guests, walking through the crowd on foot or hovering on roller skates, and pausing for show interludes. Depending on your wishes and our respective technical requirements, details and duration can be arranged and tailored to your individual needs.
Ball
A floating crystal, enigmatically controlled by the performer, or perhaps the other way round? An intimate atmosphere, created through sensuously fluid dance with the ball. You won’t be able to take your eyes off this hypnotic magical illusion once you cast a glance at it.
Fire
Valerie’s passion for the most dangerous and evocative of the four elements has culminated in years of intensive daily training, yielding a high-level fire show. Inspired from art forms such as Peking Opera and with a wisp of magic, the performance enchants the public in a world of breath-taking movement and fiery devilry.
Chinese Feicha
The feicha (Chinese, literally “flying fork”) is a traditional Chinese circus discipline known from the Peking Opera. After much research, Valerie took the traditional form, and found a modern twist to it. She creates a contrast between soft, delicate dance moves with a harsher dynamic, which come from the classic Chinese technique. She’s a master of inner calmness and peace in the face of danger.
Work in Progress
A forest of dead trees, the ghosts of Christmas past. A lonely child, animating inanimate objects, turning them into living friends. An homage to the roller coaster ride of life, with its peaks and valleys. Although this piece focuses on death, it is in fact a celebration of life. This is a long term project and is intended to become a contemporary circus piece of about 60 minutes, current length 20 minutes.
