Hi! I'm Susan Huntington. I am from the United States of America, but I recently moved to Barcelona, Spain and have an NIE/Spanish Residency here.
I grew up and received the majority of my dance training in San Diego, CA, but moved to Austin, TX as an adult and received most of my aerial training there. I am a classically trained dancer, who took to the skies as an aerialist and never looked back. My aerial career took off over the last few years, and I've had the opportunity to perform in a holiday circus, multiple music & Renaissance festivals, on tour with a band, as a resident at a local nightclub, and in many local themed shows. I love to choreograph custom acts with a character, and incorporate my dance skills both on the ground and in the air. Since I've been performing onstage for my entire life, the stage feels like home and my stage presence and energy reflect that - I appear larger than life!
My style is very versatile, reflecting my strong dance training to be a well-rounded dancer. While I have some signature skills and movements, I change my style to match the character, music, or purpose of the act. I have created graceful, beautiful ballets in the sky, action-packed routines, moody thought-provoking pieces, or sexy cabaret-style acts. I even have an act where I go on pointe on top of the trapeze bar and let go of the ropes. I believe that the best aerial acts combine dance and circus, paying close attention to musicality to meld the song, the performer, and the apparatus.
