Sonja Schulz

Thank you for checking out my profile on Circus Talk! I am a professional dancer and aerialist, currently in the Kansas City area. I am originally from the Chicago area and have extensive training in dance and aerial. 

I attended the University of Iowa where I graduated with my BFA in Dance and 200-Hour Hatha Yoga Teaching Certification. Over the past years, I've also acquired certifications in ABT Barre fitness, NASM personal training, and an Aerial Physique Level 1 teaching certification. I have also trained at the Aerial Dance Festival (Boulder, CO) and with BANDALOOP (Int./Adv. Summer Intensive). 

I have experience performing with Circus Scorpius, Quixotic, KC Contemporary Dance, City in Motion Dance, Westport Center for the Arts, and in project-based works by Suzanne Ryan Strati and Katarina Fitzpatrick. 

The apparatuses I currently perform and train on include silks, sling, trapeze (static, dance, and duo), lyra, and harness (vertical dance, floor harness dance). I am always open to training and exploring on new apparatuses. I also have experience in partner acro and tumbling. I have worked on many film projects and modeling shoots as well.
