Originally from Mexico, Gaby has been calling New Zealand home since 2005. She began her aerial journey in 2016. Initially she fell in love with aerial silks, and in the past few years that love has expanded to other apparatuses: aerial straps, static trapeze, hammock and most recently Lyra. She now defines it as an inspiring ride jam-packed with challenges, accomplishments, and amazing people.
A bit of a geek and definitely quirky, Gaby is all about collaborative work both with fellow trainers and students. She is passionate about community circus and its principles which strongly influence her practice. Gaby’s approach is strengths based, student centred, and holistic -it’s not just about the splits and abs after all.
Gaby’s background in yoga, and her passion for body awareness and therapeutic movement are an integral part of the way she trains and teaches aerials. She is a certified Counsellor, aerial silks, somatic movement, and aerial yoga instructor, yoga practitioner, story teller, performer, feminist, queer, mother, partner, friend, relentless student, and chocolate lover.
