Saffron Magic (Saffron Van Rossem) is a multidisciplinary circus artist and aerial performer specializing in aerial storytelling through expressive and invented apparatus.
Her primary disciplines include Silks, Aerial Rilks (an invented rope–silk hybrid), LED Aerial Sling, and a secondary discipline in contortion-based foot archery. Her work spans emotionally driven aerial theatre as well as playful, character-based performance — from deeply human explorations of vulnerability and resilience to lighthearted acts like Cupid, a mischievous archer earnestly aiming for love.
Saffron has trained and collaborated extensively with Paper Doll Militia, most recently performing in Homeostasis, an aerial theatre work exploring trauma responses through an invented Aerial Nervous System apparatus. She is also a featured performer in Touching Two Worlds, an annual mental health awareness production blending circus, live music, and storytelling.
Her original performance works, including The Guest House and Phoenix Rising, have been presented at international festivals such as Envision Festival in Costa Rica.
Onstage, Saffron brings a physical, artistic stage presence with magnetic intensity and emotional range.
