Phelipe is the first circus acrobat in his family, he graduated in Physiotherapy and Physical Education. Born and raised in Favela da Rocinha (Brazil), he overcame difficulties through sport and art, where he took his first steps (or acrobatics) in capoeira, when he was 7 years old. Always very active, doing acrobatics at home and in school yards, where a Physical Education teacher saw him doing a handstand, and invited him to an Artistic Gymnastics test at Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (Rio de Janeiro - Brazil). Despite not knowing what artistic gymnastics was, he accepted. And that's when it all started.
At the age of 8, he entered gymnastics, for the federated team of Clube do Flamengo, where he stayed until he was 15 years old, going to state and national championships. After leaving gymnastics, in search of other dreams, he received an invitation from his former coach to take circus classes at the contemporary circus company Intrépida Trupe (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). After more than 1 year of classes, he was invited to join the cast of Intrépida Trupe, where he remained as an circus performer and acrodancer from 2008 to 2017, performing several shows. In 2018, he joined the cast of the show “Terra Oca”, by the traditional circus company Unicirco Marcos Frota, as a banquine flyer and ground acrobat.
The encounter with Hoop Diving began in 2019, when Cirque du Soleil chose him to be part of the PPP program, and to learn Hoop Diving, a technique with which he fell in love and deepened to this day. All this eternal artistic training and love for living from art, made him who he is: a dedicated person, open to learning new things, who knows how to work in a group and who loves being on stage.
Currently, he is part of the Cirque du Soleil cast, in the show Twas The Night Before, as an acrobat in the acts of Hoop Diving and Acro Table.
