I have spent more than two decades working across theatres, arenas, touring shows, aquatic spectacles and large-scale themed attractions from the UK to Africa, Europe and East Asia. I built my career from the ground up, starting backstage as a volunteer and learning everything hands-on: lighting, sound, rigging, automation, hydraulics, stagecraft and the reality of keeping a show running when the pressure is on.
Today, I lead the Entertainment Technical teams at MGM China in Macau. My work centres on large-scale technical operations, complex show systems and keeping premium productions running safely, reliably and to a high standard. I manage multi-disciplinary teams across rigging, automation, lighting, AV and venue operations, and I genuinely enjoy developing people as much as I enjoy building and maintaining the systems themselves.
Before MGM, I worked on some of the region’s biggest and most technically demanding projects. At The House of Dancing Water in both Belgium and Macau, I was involved in rigging, acrobatic equipment and the hydraulic systems that powered the lifts, pools and underwater stages. At Studio City, I looked after rigging not just for the attractions but also for the arena, supporting touring productions, concerts and resident shows. At the Pan American Games Opening Ceremony in Guadalajara, I designed the acrobatic equipment used to fly the performers and trained both local technicians and aerial performers through installation and rehearsals.
What drives me now is a mix of technical ambition, creative problem-solving and helping the next generation of technicians get the kind of opportunities that shaped my own career. I am always open to connecting with other industry professionals, sharing ideas and exploring what the future of entertainment technology might look like.
