ORIGINAL LANGUAGE: PORTUGUES
This is an exercise in analyzing the presence of the clown in areas of social
vulnerability, which first traces an anthropological historical trajectory of the
clown, in which are identified the Sacred Clown, the language of the Gift and
the Grotesque, as well as narratives author's experiences as Clown. Through
bibliographic research on clown interventions in vulnerable areas, it illustrates
several applications of the clown game, as well as hegemonic and antihegemonic
aspects of its presence in social, political and humanitarian projects.
The tensions identified in the art of clowning in vulnerable zones dialogue with
the field of leisure. The Clown acts as both a political force of transformation,
encouraging people to become politically active, or as attenuators of conflict.
