Paula Alvalá is a Brazilian visual storyteller based in the Netherlands. With Bachelor’s degrees in Image & Sound from UFSCar and Circus Arts from Codarts University of the Arts, she combines physical comedy, clown, acting and visual storytelling to create performances that communicate beyond language.
For over twenty years she has performed internationally across theatres, festivals, television and contemporary circus, creating work where precision, humour and human behaviour come together.
Her recent work includes performances with Flip Fabrique, GOP Varieté, Cirko Vertigo, Star Parivaar Awards (India), RAI (Italy) and productions presented throughout Europe. Her short film Speedy Spider was officially selected for the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival.
She is currently developing original work for theatre and film.
