Merry Garrison is an aerialist, dancer, and contortionist with Sora Contemporary Circus in Lexington, Kentucky, and the Ballet Academy Director at Nu Revolution Dance Studio. She is a vibrant performer with a background in classical ballet and musical theatre. She embodies characters with depth and engages audiences through powerful moments of eye contact and emotional expression.
Merry has trained with Jessica Jay Johnson at Sora Aerial Arts since 2015 in aerial silks, sling, rope, and other apparatuses. She has trained in contortion with Ashlee Milnach, Micah Walters, and Anya Shevelyuk and spent over 20 years studying classical ballet and other genres of dance. Merry began teaching dance in 2006 and choreographing musicals in 2008. Outside the world of performing arts, Merry researches communication for global development and public narrative. She is a lecturer in communication and public speaking at the University of Kentucky.
