Meghan Spencer is an aerialist, dancer, and performer based in Kansas City MO.
Meghan began performing at the age of 4 with CPD Dance in Lincoln, Nebraska. She continued her dance training, including being a member of the CPD Competitive Dance Company, until high school when other performance opportunities arose. Throughout high school Meghan filled her time with vocal and instrumental ensembles, an award winning show choir, and nationally recognized theatre productions.
In college, at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Meghan performed with the Cornhusker Marching Band in front of an audience of 85,000 fans every Saturday in the fall. She also choreographed “Encore 4” and “Encore 5” at Lincoln Southwest High School. She graduated in the spring of 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, with majors in Advertising/PR & Psychology.
After beginning her aerial training in February of 2016, she was so excited to be offered a contract with KC Circus Company in April of 2022. She also performs regularly with other local companies including Quixotic Fusion. She is also the head lyra coach at Kansas City Aerial Arts.
Lyra has always been Meghan’s favorite apparatus, but is a generalist and has the capacity to excel at most aerial, dance, and circus disciplines. She also loves using her dance and acting background to bring a little something extra to her choreography both on the ground and in the air. Meghan specializes in creative storytelling and emotional performances.
