CV from Max Patschke
My name is Max Patschke, and I was born on 05.03.1996 in Berlin.
I had dived into the circus world for the first time in 2008 in the youth circus Cabuwazi and fell in love. I tried out many different disciplines over several years and got stuck in acrobatics around 2012.
In 2012, I also started a dual apprenticeship as a metalworker at the company Dieringer after I got an extended secondary school certificate at the Sophie-Brahe-Gemeinschaftsschule.
Over the period of the apprenticeship, I specialized more and more in partner and group acrobatics. Under the guidance of Piotrek Zdanowicz, the group I was part of participated very successfully in several youth circus festivals (e.g., International Festival at Waldoni and Circus Kicks Festival at ZAK).
In 2015, I obtained my driving license and am now permitted to drive motor vehicles in the AM, B and L categories
In 2016, I successfully completed the apprenticeship and acquired a secondary school diploma through an evening school program. I then worked in the same company for about 1 year.
In 2017, I decided to change my professional career and work in the circus sector. To find out if this is the right path for me, I did a six-month voluntary year in the children's and youth circus Cabuwazi and worked at Edeka at the same time. After the half year, I started a part-time job at Edeka and declared myself freelance to be able to work in the circus area.
In 2018, I applied to circus schools and did a part-time training course at the Cabuwazi Circus Academy to become a certified circus trainer.
In 2019, I quit my job at Edeka and moved to Tilburg to start my studies at the local circus school ACaPA, specialising in partner acrobatics.
During my studies, I have worked on more than 8 different trio and duo acts and was part of 4 group shows. I have also participated in various additional projects, such as the "Night of the Arts" by Fontys and another project in cooperation with the Royal Academy in Copenhagen.
In 2023, I graduated from ACaPA and received a Bachelor of Arts.
During the whole period of my studies, I continued to teach circus during my holidays in the children and youth circus Cabuwazi. I also obtained certificates in first aid and mini trampoline/air track to improve my skills as a trainer.
