ABOUT THE JOURNY!
Mélodie is a Bilingual Registered Veterinary Technician with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians OAVT(https://oavt.org/) and has a background as a former national-level (L5) trampoline athlete with Gymnastics Ontario in Eastern Ontario, Canada.
As a RVT, her unique combination of skills in animal care| behaviour and athleticism, particularly her ability to juggle medical tape and perform Fear Free Nail Trims while doing the splits , helped her in her career as a veterinary technician and in making Vet Visits Fun & Low Stress for vet clients and her patients ...This led her to realising she was meant for more than veterinary medicine!
In 2022, Mélodie made the bold decision to follow her lifelong dream and redirect her talents towards pursuing a career as a Circus Performer.
Since then, she has Worked with Cirquonscient, a collective of Ottawa based circus artists promoting creative expression, community connections and awareness of contemporary cultural and social topics interpretatively through circus and other art forms and has blossomed in 2024. As a member of Cast in Cirquonscient Projects, she elevates the energy of crowds with her charismatic clown abilities and a unique blend of acrobatics tricks on a step ladder with juggling,Diabolo, jump rope and a Pogostick.
With Orbital Talent Orbital: Ottawa's Premiere Live Performance Agency. She has also been perfecting her roaming entertainment animation skills, bringing Family Friendly Inclusive Circus Street Workshops & Dog Friendly Street Entertainment to festivals and private events.

She has participated at École de cirque de Québec Summer Workshops to develop skills in basic circus techniques (acrobatics, Trampoline, handstand, flexibility and physical preparation) and deepen her knowledge of circus disciplines. She has also participated in varied complementary workshops such as Dance,theatrical performance,mime, flying trapeze, fall managemen,biomechanics relevant to circus arts and Inclusive Juggling.
She has been exposed to the disciplines: Fixed Trapeze | Chinese hoops | Handstands | Tight wire | Slackline|Juggling | Hand to hand | Chinese pole | German wheel | Cyr wheel | Trampwall | Russian Bar.

Professional development In New- Brunswick: September-October 2024
She was selected as one of 6 artists to participate in a Stage Fight workshop with Nicolas Van Burek.
The workshop served a study of fundamentals such as targets, distance, convergence and speed to introduce the techniques and methods necessary for the choreography and performance of theatrical combat, bare-handed or armed.
