Lexi Powell is an American circus artist, aerialist, and movement specialist whose work combines technical precision, musicality, high-energy performance, and a natural connection with audiences.
Specializing in aerial hoop, Lexi’s career has taken her through arena tours, cruise ships, theatrical productions, television, festivals, resorts, and special events around the world. Her credits include Cirque Mechanics, Marvel Universe Live, MSC Cruises, RWS Entertainment Group, MTV, and performances alongside artists including Missy Elliott. Beyond aerial hoop, her performance vocabulary includes aerial swing, silks, hammock, hula hoops, fire, acrobatic movement, and ensemble work.
At her core, though, Lexi considers herself an artist first. Circus is her medium, movement is one of her languages, and curiosity has never let her stay in one lane for very long.
With a B.S. in Kinesiology and decades spent studying movement, Lexi approaches her work with a serious respect for craft. She sees technique as vocabulary: the greater an artist’s command of their body and apparatus, the more clearly they can communicate. Tricks may satisfy the athlete in her, but onstage, technique serves something larger—music, character, intention, story, and the experience being created for the audience.
And Lexi loves an audience.
Her stage presence is commanding, energetic, playful, powerful, glamorous, occasionally ridiculous, and naturally a little sensual. She loves making eye contact, finding the joke, hitting the musical moment, and discovering what a particular room needs from her. Whatever world a production is creating, she wants to step fully inside it.
In the rehearsal room, Lexi brings professionalism, curiosity, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit. She does her homework, shows up prepared, thinks on her feet, and naturally gravitates toward leadership when it’s needed. She seeks excellence without competitiveness and loves working with people who are equally invested in making something good.
That interest in people extends well beyond the stage. Travel is one of her favorite parts of this strange career—not simply for the places, but for the people, languages, cultures, and stories she encounters along the way. Offstage, she is equal parts social butterfly and woman sitting somewhere with coffee and a book. She paints, makes music, loves museums, dancing, red wine, dad jokes, beautiful things, and has an inexplicably deep appreciation for trees. (There may be a tree show someday.)
Ultimately, Lexi loves performing because she genuinely loves the work: the thrill of walking onstage prepared, the satisfaction of mastering something difficult, the energy exchanged with an audience, and the experience of creating alongside talented people.
Circus may be the medium she works in today, but artistry is how she moves through the world. Whatever form that takes next, she plans to keep making things—and she’ll probably always find her way back to a stage.
