Lala Araki is a circus performer based in Los Angeles, California, specializing in aerial hammock, aerial hoop, and dance trapeze, but is still competent in most other aerial disciplines. She works regularly as an instructor at TSNY on the Santa Monica Pier as a catcher for flying trapeze, and currently heads the aerial department there. During her first aerial competition through WCAAF back in 2015, Lala took first place in her division in both silks and aerial hoop. Though her primary passion is in the aerial arts, she was raised in the world of musical theatre, and received her bachelor degree in theatre with a minor in music, and worked as a vocalist for cognitive therapy app, SingFit, and performed regularly as a jazz vocalist at the Blue Whale.
Through her work, Lala’s highest aim is to tell authentic stories of what often is pushed to the shadows.
