La Gata Cirko is the first independent contemporary circus company in Colombia, it was founded by artists from different fields and currently has an artistic team with great talent if different disciplines. Since 2003 investigates the body in movement and explores the interaction of circus techniques with the languages of the performing arts, such as dance and theatre, generating an experimental platform for artistic creation.
La Gata Cirko has devised circus shows both in large and small formats. Its repertoire includes pieces like “Déjà-vu”, “La Cita”, “Soma”, “Zoom”, “Las 7 vidas del Gato”, “Trópico Destino” grant IDARTES 2012, “La Tempestad” Grant IBERESCENA 2012, Gypsy Express 2015, “Dios Proovera, 2015”, coproducción Francia – Suiza – Colombia , “Las Raíces Flojas 2016” y “1,2, 3 y 4 también 2018”.
The company has performed in many national and international stages and the work has been reviewed as innovative. With over 500 performances, it has entertained around 100.000 spectators, it has exceeded gender, nationality and age frontiers, due to the content and format of the shows. -
