Originally from Greenbelt, Maryland, Katie grew up involved in competitive artistic gymnastics. This background attracted her to the Gymkana Troupe -- University of Maryland's acrobatics and gymnastics performance team -- which was her first foray into circus. For the three years that she was with Gymkana, Katie performed traditional gymnastics apparatus such as balance beam and uneven bars in addition to mini-trampoline vaulting, partner acrobatics, individual aerial silks, duo aerial silks, and Gymkana's historic ladders act. Upon graduating, she decided that she wasn't done performing and sought further training at the San Diego Circus Center (SDCC), where she was accepted into the ProTrack program for the 2022-23 school year. At SDCC she specialized in flying pole and aerial silks and gained performance experience on straps, stilts, and duo trapeze. She takes pride in the diverse influences of her background and is always hungry to pick up new disciplines.
