Karina Schiller is an enthusiastic, adventurous and inquisitive Australian/Austrian circus artist. She began her career as an elite gymnast and transitioned to circus studying at NICA. After 18 years of intensive training, she has delightedly performed in many circus and physical theatre shows around the world including; “Finestra Aperta” for the European Capital of Culture in the Netherlands and "Precarious" by Circus Oz. For the last 5 years, Karina has primarily been self-producing and performing with her company Statera Circus. But recently she has regained a love and appreciation for training and is looking for work as an independent artist once more.
As a generalist acrobat, Karina thrives when creating and working in ensemble collaborations and loves exploring new styles and skills, seeking out any chance to learn.
She specializes in Chinese Pole, Group Acrobatics, and unconventional Balance apparatus (including her own inventions, Statera Light Balance and The Log). Karina loves combining her circus disciplines and technical skills with physical theatre to create captivating, layered performances.
