Jypsy's is a private performing arts studio in Upland CA (about 40mins east of Los Angeles). We are a community of athletes, artists, and creative souls who work to empower each other through movement and live performance. Our teachers are all experts in their fields and have experience working with students of all different backgrounds and levels of ability.
We offer a variety of circus, fitness, and dance classes such as: aerial yoga, pole dance, lyra, aerial silks, aerial sling, belly dance, contortion, and burlesque.
*We are most known for our 10 week Act Creation course and our seasonal circus shows. Every season we put out a theme for our next show and an open casting call for students to sign up. In the course, we will take you through the whole process of developing a character, music, choreography, costuming, and an entire act that suits the theme of the show. The process involves meditations, journaling, theatrical activities, photo shoots, and excursions to help you develop your piece. This is a chance for aspiring performers to immerse themselves in the creative process and learn about themselves while making friends along the way.

Rites of Ancient Origins (Winter 2017) ~ Performers were encouraged to develop acts that paid homage to their ancestors
Mirage ~ A Mid Summer Night's Circus (Summer 2017) ~ Our cast took our audience on an immersive journey into a dream like world in the Middle Eastern Desert. Performers researched middle eastern arts and culture in order to develop their acts.
Body of Distortion (Spring 2018) ~ Performers were asked to research and discuss the topic of body image in art, sport, medicine, and society. Each performer created a piece that made a statement about how their perceptions on body image.
