Jo is a circus artist from Lisbon, Portugal.
As an aerialist he specializes in Silk, Rope, Straps, Vertical Dance and Duo Trapeze.
Jo began his training in Armazém Aério where he eventually became part of the artistic company and worked there for around 10 years, taking part in many shows and event productions around Portugal and Spain. One of the highlight shows in his career is the show A Pele Que Há Em Mim that toured from 2018 to 2022. He coached children, teens and adults in aerial acrobatics for 6 years and worked in the inclusion project Dance21+ targeted to people with special needs and circus enthusiasts, leading to participation in the MITEU International Theatre Festival in Galiza, Spain.
Jo now attends INAC - Instituto Nacional de Artes do Circo where he will graduate in 2025, debuting a short solo show entitled The Way to Sleep.
His passion for story telling stands out as well as his restless, energetic approach to technique.
Besides his time spent on stage or training, you can always find Jo drawing, playing board games or trying new ice cream flavors.
