Jake Rice

Jake is an emerging Indigenous, queer, and francophone multidisciplinary artist of mixed heritage; originally from Timmins, Ontario, and a member of Mattagami First Nation. Specializing in circus and street theatre he performs across Ontario, animating public spaces, festivals and events. Jake blends traditional and contemporary hoop dance forms with modern circus hooping skills to create a truly unique and emotionally powerful spectacle. 

Jake is the creator of a 30 minute hooping and comedy show called the Jake in the Box Show. His solo show was debuted at the Toronto International Busker Festival in 2024 and has since been seen at Toronto's DO West Fest (2026), Imagine in the Park Childrens Festival (2025), Minto Pride in the Park (2025, 2026). Elements of his show have been featured at the Royal Ontario Museum (2026) and the Collingwood Pride Variety Show (2026).
