I am a lighting designer with 15 years of professional experience in New York, India and South America. I believe my diverse experience working across theatrical productions, music events, tv productions, films, mapping design, and live web productions makes me the ideal candidate to successfully fulfill the responsibilities as a Project Manager in your team.
In 2011, I launched my own lighting design company named Illapa Iluminación in Ecuador. The company became a pioneer in its field in Ecuador, and I started a creative line that was replicated by other enterprises across the country. As manager of Illapa Iluminacion for 7 years, my duties ranged from administrative responsibilities to developing creative content. I interacted with clients, managed the budget, and designed and mapped lights for events.
This has strengthened my understanding of sound design, recruitment, and working with a diverse set of designers and recordists. It also improved my understanding of the techniques and technologies of sound.
As an event manager, I managed a team of eleven people and oversaw staging, rigging, video, sound, and lighting teams. I ensured proper standards of work safety, and hardware and electrical gear handling, including electrical connections and installations. But mostly I ensured time and budget efficiency.
I know how to work as part of a team on different scales. As a team member of “Yo Me Llamo” , a TV show broadcasted by Teleamazonas Network, in Ecuador, my position was Director of Photography. I was in charge of the camera and lighting crew, but reported directly to the director and producers of the show.
I graduated as a film director, tv and radio producer; and lighting and stage designer from the Universities of Brooklyn and Suffolk in New York. This academic training, coupled with my skills, has allowed me to work in diverse productions positions, including event production, sound recording, camera operation, stage management and lighting design.
