Since joining CircEsteem in 2001 the age of 5, Jack’s experience with social circus has been at the core of his career in research. After graduating from Pomona College with a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience, he was awarded a Fulbright research scholarship to study Medical Clowning in Israel. His research explored how Medical Clowns can be effectively integrated into the medical team and how performance techniques can be adapted to help treat patients. His findings were published recently in the peer reviewed journal: Clinical Medicine Insights: Pediatrics https://doi.org/10.1177/1179556520909376 His current work at UCLA explores the effects of stress on cancer metastasis and how positive psychology can combat negative effects of stress on a biological level. He is currently applying to medical school with the hope of incorporating lessons he learned from CircEsteem into his future work as a doctor.
