Hannah Grove is a circus artist from the United States currently residing in Montréal, Québec. Hannah discovered circus arts at age 10 and began training by herself in her basement at age 14. After 4 years of touring with Circus Smirkus, she entered École Nationale de Cirque where she graduated spring 2023 with a major in tightwire and general acrobatics. She expresses great interest in breaking down the traditional view of a circus artist to help redefine and create a new contemporary and hopes her work can aid in this process. Hannah has experience performing tightwire, hoop diving, acro-dance, bottle walking, group acrobatics, banquine, aerial hoop, and hula hoop as well as experience performing audience animations and crowd work in contemporary and traditional settings. She is very enthusiastic about working in a group setting and really values the close connections that are made. Hannah draws much of her inspiration from obscure art, claymation, 70’s experimental music, the way scaly animals move, odd fashion and live performance. In the future, Hannah wishes to create a strong foothold in the contemporary circus arts scene, and hopes to inspire many people to cut their hair impulsively. She wants to bring the personal back into performance and approaches her work with extreme curiosity and an intense love for the wire. Find her somewhere under a lime green lightscape dancing to something experimental!
