Gavin is a multidisciplinary performing arts professional with over 20 years experience, across the full breadth of the performing arts industry.
With a strong movement foundation in dance (primarily Breaking) combined with a wider skill set as an actor, stage and screen combatant and theatre performer he has become an experienced movement director, along side a 5+ years proven track record as a competent rigging professional working in aerial theatre, circus, and stunt rigging capacities.
Having worked on multiple indoor, outdoor and site-specific productions, often in hybrid roles as a performer and technician, Gavin is well versed in a wide range of aerial apparatus, rigging and lifting equipment. His multi-faceted skill set, ensures a prioritised focus on health and safety, whilst applying a wealth of experience from a performing background to support the creative process of a production and the smooth running of a show.
As a movement director and choreographer Gavin has created and performed within his own theatrical works, and on a wide range of commercial and theatrical productions, coordinating and managing large teams of interdisciplinary performers.
With excellent communication skills and a passion for the exploration of what can be done creatively through movement, dance and aerial rigging, Gavin is accustomed to working as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team, As a well-rounded professional with extensive experience working in large scale production environments.
Originally trained as a physiotherapist, Gavin continues to promote healthy movement practices through all facets of his work, as a movement and dance coach, mentor and teacher, nationally and internationally.
Gavins varied and extensive experience has enabled him to become an adaptive professional who is keen to constantly learn and develop as a valued asset to any production, with a calm solution-based approach to every challenge.
