FOCASA Group, for joy and dreams of circus casa.
Founded in 2011, FOCASA Croup is the first contemporary circus in Taiwan. Dedicated to advancing the art of contemporary circus, since 2017, it has been recognized for eight consecutive years by the National Culture and Arts Foundation as a "TAIWAN TOP Performing Arts Group."
Most members of the team come from the Department of Acrobatics at the Taiwan College of Traditional Arts, the only professional program in Taiwan dedicated to training circus and acrobatics talents. The founder, Lin Chih-Wei, envisioned a brighter future for Taiwan's circus performers. With this vision, he founded FOCA (the predecessor of FOCASA), pioneering the integration of circus and acrobatics into theaters.
Over the past 14 years, FOCASA has tirelessly cultivated Taiwan’s contemporary circus scene, making the island a fertile ground for its development. It also became the first Taiwanese circus troupe to tour internationally, serving as a key platform for showcasing Taiwanese circus arts on prominent global stages.
In 2025, the troupe officially rebranded as FOCASA, embodying the spirit of a joyful and dream-driven home for circus arts. With a mission to convey the positive values of courage, sharing, and hope through circus, FOCASA integrates Creation, Curation, and Cultivation to strengthen and sustain the ecosystem of circus arts in Taiwan.
