Fernando Nogueira, a 26-year-old Brazilian Circus Artist, Creator, Actor, Screenwriter, and Cultural Producer, currently residing in Portugal, is a multifaceted figure in the artistic universe. His journey began in Brazil, where he specialized in various circus modalities, culminating in his dedication to Chinese Pole during his training at INAC - National Institute of Circus Arts from 2021 to 2023.
On the international scene, Fernando gained recognition by creating the show "Rastros", a collaboration with the Antonio Lamoso cinetheater and the Paredes de Coura Cultural Center. This unique piece, which represented Portugal in the international circus program "La Nuit de Cirque", was the country's only debut at the event.
As part of the Leirena Teatro cast in Portugal, Fernando is an artistic interpreter and co-creator of the "Estações Efêmeras" project, supported by DGArtes. In 2022, he and his Chinese Pole project "ECOS" were awarded the creation grant by the festival "Novos Ventos", presenting the show in its program. In 2018, he created his first original show "Através", which received the prestigious PROAC 07 Award and was awarded the PROAC/FUNARTE First Works Award, highlighting his unique ability to conceive, direct and produce impactful plays.
Previously, from 2014 to 2018, Fernando graduated with distinction from the circus technical course at CAJUV, in São Paulo, standing out as a specialist in aerial acrobatics. Going even further in his training, he dedicated himself to acting and screenwriting at ENTECO - National School of Theater and Communication, and then specialized in physical theater, under the mentorship of master Lois Louis.
Throughout his career, Fernando has participated in renowned circus festivals, including the Sesc International Circus Festival, the International Circus Festival (FIC), and the São Paulo Circus Festival. In 2022, his work as co-creator and performer in "Obras Sobrepostas" was recognized with the title of "Winner of the program in Network initiative" in Portugal. In the same year, he performed in the show "Rayo, Raio, Bean" under the direction of Jorge Albuerne. In 2023, he presented his solo Chinese Pole project "Forma", mentored by Roberto Magro, Alessio Rouco, and Jorge Lix.
