Felicity is a creator, director, and producer. She is currently the Artistic Director at Circus Center in San Francisco. During her less than two years as AD, Felicity has produced over 10 shows and events (with more in the works) including intimate cabarets, large spectacles, ensemble circus theater, and outdoor events. In the last year, Felicity has also revived the Artist in Residence Program, supporting more than eight local artists and ensembles. As AD, Felicity had developed and directed multiple shows featuring professionals, adult students, and youth artists. Felicity co-directed Delkhii: A Celebration of Contortion Art with Serchmaa Byamba at the Great Star Theater combining traditional Mongolian contortion, contemporary circus, and video projections. She adapted and directed The Secret Garden, as an ensemble based theatrical circus piece alongside acrobatic designer Evan Tomlinson Weintraub. Most recently, Felicity adapted and directed Alice! A Holiday Circus Spectacular with a cast of 50+ performers incorporating circus, dance, audience interaction, and clowning.
During the Pandemic, Felicity directed innovative projects including A Midsummer Night’s Dream (a sing-along, dance-along circus web series), Women of America (official selection for the Circus International Film Festival 2021), and Circus Pop Ups. Circus Pop Ups was a series of seven outdoor, site specific performances featuring circus artists, interactive performers, and live musicians at iconic SF locations including the Palace of Fine Arts, Alamo Square, and Sutro Baths. Felicity made Circus Pop Ups into a short film which was an official selection in the 2022 Circus International Film Festival and won the Audience Choice Award. Before the Pandemic hit in 2020, Felicity toured her solo show, Cara Vita: A Clown Concerto, to San Francisco, the East Coast, and London.
Felicity specializes in directing productions that incorporate theater and circus. Before the Pandemic, Felicity directed multiple productions at Circus Center including Circus Addiction, Circus of Light, and co-directed The Monkey King: A Circus Journey with Jeff Raz. Felicity directed Lyle the Crocodile and Emil of Lonneberga with Bay Area Children’s Theatre. In Chicago, Felicity directed The Tempest: A Magical Circus and Ottavio Cannestrelli’s A Clown Without a Circus at the Actor’s Gymnasium.
Prior to the Pandemic, Felicity was performing as an actor, clown, and trapeze artist. Her performance credits include the 10th National Chrysanthemum Festival in Kaifeng-China, Seattle’s Moisture Festival, the New Pickle Circus, Teatro ZinZanni, multiple theater circus shows at Children’s Fairyland, and the San Francisco Aerial Arts Festival.
Felicity received a BA with Honors in Theater from Kalamazoo College, an MA with Honors in Teaching from DePaul University, and certification from the Clown Conservatory and Bay Area Video Coalition.
