Esteban Cárdenas (Argentina) is a dancer, improviser, choreographer and Pole Sport athlete from Rosario, Argentina, who lives in Bolivia. He started theater and dance in 1990, attending the public Theater and Dance School. Soon after, he started dancing with companies in Rosario and Buenos Aires. In 1994 he moved to New York to continue studying at different dance studios. Since then, he has been dancing with and for a variety of companies and dancers as Luis Lara, Rosa Mei dance Co, Merian Soto Dance Company, Phillipa Kaye, Tony Silva, Fausto Matias and Melanie Rios among others. He has also been teaching around America at several private studios and universities as UCLA, The Wooden Floor, Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Argentina, Universidad Federal de Curitiba (Brasil), and performing at festivals, theatres and alternative spaces.
In 2008 he was awarded with the Darmasiswa scholarship and Prince Claus Fund to study traditional dance in Indonesia for a year.In 2010 he participate of OMI dance residency with the support again of Prince Claus Fund. In the same year he created a dance company, Compañía Invisible.
As an independent artist he collaborated with others dancers around the world combining structure improvisations as well as choreography.
