Mai Yamachi

My main discipline is aerial straps but my background is capoeira and I have a bachelor degree in Dance. I have done hair hanging, aerial hoop as well and general aerial skills. My newest skills were diving, aerial cradle and hand to hand. The last performance selected for Demain is a partnership with my husband forming duo 121, born during pandemic mixing rope and hair hanging. Since I was child I dream to be part of a circus and travel. But the life conducted me to contemporary dance, so I started circus kind of late. As I always moved my body and developed body awareness, I could learn quickly during a circus career and could work in national and international tour with less than 3 years in aerial practice. To learn is exciting, make us feel alive and young feeling. I think we should never stop the wish to learn something new. I love to be on stage and I want to have time and strength to do it as much as possible. I also love to create, and watch performances, always amazed for what human beings are capable <3
