A talented Singer/Songwriter/actress, Dikelo is an artist who believes in maintaining sincerity in her work. Her added experience in musical theatre and her eclectic array of influences make her style difficult to put into a category. With her music, she seeks to move the soul while giving a glimpse of who she is, and as an actress, she hopes to authentically portray and honour the stories she tells.
Hailing from a corporate background as a BI Developer, she's taken a leap of faith and thrown herself into her true calling as a performer, while working as a full time System Analyst. She completed her National Diploma in Software Development in Port Elizabeth, and went on to use her qualifications in a range of job specifications, namely as a, Programmer; Risk Analyst and Data Analyst, for another 6years, before deciding to give her creative side a chance.
Performing was always something that came naturally to Dikelo growing up. Her heart and passion for what she does, comes through in a simple yet authentic way as you listen to her stories through her songs. One of her great achievements to date has been coming runner up in the Castle Milk Stout Songwriters competition in 2014, where she performed alongside SA sensations, Micasa. Dikelo also co-produced and starred in the Grahamstown National Arts Festival 2015, 2016 & 2017 run of the sexy comedy, Six Inches. Dikelo recorded and released her debut EP called Awakened in April 2016, which is available on most online platforms. The most recent collaboration was with UK based producer, Stef Tahlia on a song called ‘Moving On’.
