Cleo is a Pole, Chair and Floor dancer who hails from Mulubinba / Newcastle and Eora / Sydney, Australia. Rumour has it that her legendary fringe has never had so much as a hair out of place in all its years. She is a performance artist, producer, roving entertainer, and teacher of Pole dance and Striptease. A professional wearer (and remover) of sparkly undies; Cleo is ooey gooey, hotter than hellfire, and buttery smooth.
Cleo is a regular fixture in Burlesque, Cabaret and Variety shows, and the Queer Nightlife scene, in Sydney, Newcastle and interstate. The fire in her hips was ignited when she took her first ever Pole dance class in 2018, and since then she has transformed into a Category Five "Human Herricane of Sensuality" (according to one generous viewer). During lockdown in October 2021, she won the Amateur division of the first ever 'Floorstars' online international dance competition via Zoom – from the comfort of her own living room! She was selected for the OMGWTF Artist Mentorship Program, supported by City of Newcastle and mentored by Hulahoop Superstar Hannah Indigo, to develop new work and join the award-winning "OMGWTF" cast on stage.
In 2022, Cleo developed and unleashed her very own THUNDERCLACKS Pole and Floor Dance workshops, which focus on using stripper heels to create soul-quaking bangs and clacks. She currently teaches Pole dance, Chair dance and Flexibility classes at Sydney Pole Camperdown - the world's largest pole dancing studio - and at the Gladesville studio.
Under the August 12th full moon, she made her producing debut in Newcastle with her very own variety show entitled THE RAPTURE a decadent evening, full of heightened humanity and displays of divinity - and a smoking hot sellout success. The second coming of The Rapture took place on December 9th to another sellout audience, who generously made it rain and raised over $700 for Share The Dignity's #it'sinthebag campaign. 2023 kicked off with a very special sold out Queer Rebirth edition of "The Rapture" to celebrate Sydney World Pride, and over $500 was raised for The Gender Centre throughout the evening.
Cleo produced and appeared in "Museum of Muses" - a new theatrical stage show - which she developed as part of This Is Not Art Festival's 2022 program, supported by CreateNSW. Premiering at The Civic Theatre Playhouse, Museum of Muses is a divine realm of sculptures and silhouettes within an awakened museum; an erotic fusion of aerial artistry, acrobatics, pole dance, steamy burlesque, and haunting spoken word.
2023 has been a whirlwind for Cleo; she spread her lust - and legs - all over Sydney and Newcastle stages as part of the historic Sydney WorldPride 2023 celebrations. She launched herself onto the international stage in March, touring to London and Manchester (UK), where she performed alongside pole dance royalty Kitty Velour at The Pussy Parlour Cabaret. Since coming back Down Under, she has appeared in shows at Adelaide Fringe Festival and Newcastle Fringe Festival, including Best Cabaret Show winner "Red Light Confidential". You can catch her flying in the air or burning the floor in a city near you soon!
Repent and ascend, bitch; the Rapture is coming.
