Caitlyn Kilgore (aka Lyn Vert) grew up in Southern California playing team sports, doing gymnastics, dancing, and dreaming of being a daredevil. In 2010, after graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree is Psychology, she decided to finally fulfill her lifelong dream of running away to the circus. Since then, Caitlyn has trained and performed aerial and acrobatic acts in and around San Francisco, CA and the Western US. Caitlyn’s performance style is influenced by her eclectic movement background, far-reaching musical inspirations, and inclination toward efficiency and grace. In 2014, she founded Shy Girl Circus, a duo trapeze partnership that performed and taught in and around Oakland. In 2018 Caitlyn wrote, directed, and choreographed "The Secrets of the Trees" a full length anti-capitalist circus show about forests and resilience. Caitlyn loves teaching and is fiercely committed to facilitating success in her classroom. She regularly coaches classes for adults and children at the Athletic Playground in Emeryville, CA and Kinetic Arts Center in Oakland, CA and has also taught workshops as far from home as the Dominican Republic; Johannesburg, South Africa; and Cork, Ireland.
