Ariane was born in Munich/Germany. Originally trained in high level classical and contemporary dance and working as an actress for several theatre productions, she soon followed her childhood passion and became a professional juggler.
In the past nine years Ariane toured successfully in various artistic contexts (Cirque Romanès, CriticalMess by Stefan Sing, Cie Jérôme Thomas etc.) across the world (Europe, Asia, Africa, South America). She also writes and performs her own creations (in particular “play nice” with Roxana Küwen and “memory - Wiener Zirkus im Nationalsozialismus” with Johanna Prantz and Natalja Kreil). She received a scholarship for contemporary circus from the city of Munich in 2013, and won numerous prizes at international festivals for her solo “SechZ”. In 2021 she also received the scholarship "New Circus" in Austria.
She spent the non-performing winter 20/21 in Toulouse (FR) to attend the advanced training course “Formalisation de Projet” at ESACTO‘Lido. In 2013 she graduated from the professional circus school DIE ETAGE e.V. in Berlin and then did her Masters in Choreography at the Codarts Universities in Rotterdam and Fontys in Tilburg (Joint Degree COMMA - Co-Creation of Movement Master of Arts). Ariane lives between Toulouse, Paris and Vienna and is an active member of several art collectives (TRAP, SchloR, etc.).
Ariane works as a performer, choreographer, director, and movement-dramaturge - focused on the aesthetic-emotional expression of object manipulation and movement. She sees her artistic practice as inter- (sectional) disciplinary: Her current research interest lies at the intersection of performative art and political activism.
