Born in Hong Kong, Anna moved to Toronto which has now become her home as an aerialist/aerial acrobat, dancer and instructor. She has received dance training in jazz, ballet, hip hop, heels and musical theatre at various schools including the National Ballet of Canada, London School of Dance, Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts, and OIP Dance Centre. Anna spent her teenage years dancing, performing and choreographing for dance clubs, assemblies, fundraisers, musical productions and dance workshops. Since then, she has trained in a variety of aerial apparatuses including silks, straps, rope, hoop, trapeze and pole. She has taught aerial classes to both children and adults at the International Circus Festival for HarbourKIDS, City Dance Corps, The Circus Warehouse and The Circus Fix. Anna continues to expand her practice as a performer and instructor by learning from various Cirque Du Soleil coaches and aerial/dance mentors. She has been featured as an aerialist in various non-profit and corporate campaigns/projects including, National Campaign for Child Welfare and Citi Financial Accelerating Pathways. At 25 years old, Anna is delighted to be sharing her love for aerial and dance across Canada. One day, she hopes to create a dance, music and art therapy program, and eventually a therapeutic arts center where children and adults can access arts-based forms of psychotherapy.
Through public speaking and the arts, Anna is dedicated to bringing purpose and resilience to all those around her. Bringing a compelling energy to any room, she speaks on topics such as, vicarious trauma and resilience, child welfare, domestic violence, healthy versus unhealthy relationships, leadership, preparing for life after graduation, and her story as a complex trauma survivor. She has been invited to speak to a variety of fora across Canada including United Nations Special Rapporteur for Child Rights, Legislative Assembly of Ontario and New Brunswick, University of Toronto, University of Moncton, CIBC, HSBC, Toronto and Peel District School Boards, Ontario Association of Social Workers, Children’s Aid Societies, and Toronto and Ontario Police College.
