My movement journey began when I was just 6 years old, as my mum enrolled me in ballet classes. I continued to compete in Czechia as a ballerina until my teenage years, when I transitioned into contemporary dance.
In 2018, I discovered partner acrobatics and circus aerial art, which became a life-changing experience as I fell in love with modern circus. I became addicted to aerial silks classes at The Movement Academy in Sydney and searched for all possible partner acrobatics groups, training as often as I could while balancing a full-time job as a structural engineer.
My silks teacher, Karen Yuen, and I discovered our shared movement similarities and began performing duo silks, duo lyra, and partner acrobatics together in 2021 around Australia. Some of my significant performing and teaching moments include the Karnidale Lunar Circus in Karridale, WA, in January 2024, Mardi Gras 2023 in Sydney, NSW, and Hudsons Circus in Brisbane, QLD, in January 2023.
Recognizing the scarcity of duo aerial teachers with similar body types, Karen and I began coaching at various circus gatherings and offering private classes in early 2023.
To gain more experience in group acrobatics, I participated in Chris Carlos APAC's SpinCourse and Australian acro exchanges. Thanks to these experiences, I had the privilege to meet and train with many internationally recognized acrobats.
Moving down to Melbourne in 2023 enabled me to enroll in numerous local self-development workshops and classes, such as gymnastics, Body Weather under Frank van de Ven, contemporary dance under Kaitlin Malone, and silks under NICA's graduate, Amy Stone.
Now, I am at a stage where I am fully committed to transitioning from my engineering career to pursue physical theatre full-time. Being on stage brings me joy, and my passion truly lies in expressing myself through movement.
