Hello! A little bit about me, I grew up competing in Rhythmic Gymnastics until about the age of 13. I ended up leaving the sport because at the time I had found the Actors Gymnasium and had found circus. Circus absolutely drew me in because I loved the idea of "performing" versus "competing" as well as all the new disciplines and skills I got to learn were so much fun to learn and master.
At the Actors Gymnasium I was exposed to multiple different disciplines, both ground and aerial. While aerials were always my favorite, I enjoyed learning how to juggle and pass clubs, unicycle, and train acro including hand to hand and adagio. We were fortunate to be exposed to so many different aerial disciplines as well including hoop, silks, net, Spanish web, trapeze, and some invented apparatuses. I was also able to learn and try Chinese Poles for the first time, as well as teeterboard.
After graduating high school, I attended Illinois State University where I was once again so fortunate to continue training and performing. I also got to expand my skills in group acro, teeterboard, and aerials. The space and the program allowed me to explore and train Russian Swing as well. For three years in the Gamma Phi Circus, I was able to train, coach, and create for our yearly show. I was also selected to represent the program in the first Viva Fest in Las Vegas.
Currently, I reside in Las Vegas where I am training and specializing in Aerial Spiral. A dream apparatus for me that was made a reality. I felt very connected to the Aerial Spiral because of how mesmerizing it was. The apparatus feels a lot like a dance that also incorporates strength, power, and flexibility. The movement quality of the spiral paired with my movement quality felt like an absolute match. I have curated a few pieces and am working on a few new ones as well at the moment. Videos are in my media, along with some photos.
