Alisa Fendley

My name is Alisa and I am an aerialist and dancer who performs on straps, lyra, dance trapeze, silks, hammock, chains, bungee/harness, as well as custom-designed apparatuses.

 I have traveled the world performing for shows and companies including:

The Hook, Le Monastère, NYC Circus Festival, France’s Got Talent, Company XIV, Royal Caribbean Productions, Broadway Bares, Six Flags, Cirque Dreams, The Box NYC, The Slipper Room, Duane Park, Red Pavilion, House of Yes, The Muse, Busch Gardens, Ouagadougou International Dance Festival, Studio 54, Paramount Hotel, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Joyce Soho, Danspace Project, Vassar College, La Mama, and the Spring of Culture Festival in Bahrain. I have performed ballet, contemporary, modern, and ballroom dance professionally.

I am a unique blend of story-teller and spectacle. I'm a boldly non-binary performer who can fully embody masculine and feminine characters and energies (with a preference for masculine/fluid), using highly technical aerial skill. I use my art to embrace comedy, chaos, and compassion. Creating character-driven aerial acts, I aim to impact the audience with both jaw-dropping tricks and memorable stories, ranging from gender-bending and political straps acts to aerial burlesque in a shrimp costume. My years of dance training and performance bring a nuanced movement quality to my aerial work and make it easy for me to shine in group choreography, and my experience on myriad apparatuses make it easy for me to bring multiple acts to the show. I will bring the professionalism, charm, and onstage confidence that I've gained from a decade of performing aerial and burlesque in the gritty hustle culture of NY, and I will bring a giant shrimp costume if you need it.

I graduated from N.Y.U. with degrees in Dance and English and continue seeking the highest level of circus training in Montreal when I am in-between contracts.
