Alicia Houser is a dancer, aerialist, and photographer originally from Santa Cruz, California. She grew up training in ballet with the Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre under Co-Artistic Directors Robert Kelley and Diane Cypher. She also trained in jazz and contemporary dance with local companies such as No Limits Dance and Pacific Arts Complex.
In May 2021, she graduated from Muhlenberg College with a B.A. in Dance, concentrating in Performance and Teaching Dance, with a focus on Ballet, Modern, and Circus Arts. Alicia performed in all of Muhlenberg College’s dance productions, including Master Choreographers, Moving Stories, Dance Emerge, and Fall/Spring Galleries. She worked with guest choreographers, faculty members, and students, including Kevin Jenkins, Michael Nickerson-Rossi, Karen Dearborn, and more. In the fall of 2020, while unable to be on campus due to the pandemic, she performed in the dance film RETURN as part of an MFA Thesis project at California Institute of the Arts, choreographed by Noah Dach.
While pursuing her B.A. at Muhlenberg, Alicia was introduced to circus arts, specifically aerial disciplines. She became a member of The Muhlenberg Circus and rose to Co-President of the college ensemble in 2020. After graduating, Alicia enrolled in the San Diego Circus Center preparatory program, and in April 2022, she presented an original aerial hammock routine at Viva Fest in Las Vegas, receiving second place in her category.
Alicia is currently located in Los Angeles, CA, where she teaches at local studios while also pursuing for professional work.
