Description:The Paramount Theatre/Aurora Civic Center Authority (ACCA), an innovative organization located on Stolp Island in the Fox River in the heart of historic Aurora, Illinois (just one hour from downtown Chicago), is seeking a Wig, Hair + Makeup Run Crew member.ACCA is the parent organization of the Paramount Arts Centre, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It operates four performance venues: RiverEdge Park (6,000 capacity) Paramount Theatre (1,843-seat historic landmark) Copley Theatre (165-seat, newly renovated) Stolp Island Theatre (brand-new, 98-seat, 9,000 sq ft development) ACCA presents more than 500 performances each year, including a Broadway Series (the largest subscription base in the country), the Bold Series, touring productions, and community events. It also runs the Paramount School of the Arts and manages the Meyer Ballrooms for special events. Position Overview Department: Production Reports To: Wardrobe, Wig, Hair + Makeup Crew Head; Lead Stagehand; Crew Manager Works Closely With: Wardrobe Crew, Wig Shop Management, Designers, Costume Shop Staff Status: Part-time, hourly Compensation: $30.00/hour Hire Date: Early to mid-August Schedule: 8-show weeks (2 on Wed, 1 Thu, 1 Fri, 2 Sat, 2 Sun) 4-hour minimum daily call; OT after 8 hours/day Extended hours during tech rehearsals Required attendance at occasional understudy rehearsals and marketing events General Responsibilities Work with Designers, Wig Shop Management, and Wardrobe Crew to ensure performers are correctly styled Execute smooth, organized wig/hair/makeup changes Maintain and track all related products and equipment Key Responsibilities Maintain and tidy wig styles while preserving original designs Prep wigs and makeup before shows Preset wigs, supplies, and products as needed Assist performers with wigs and makeup at half-hour call and during performances Track placement and status of wigs and makeup throughout the run Communicate supply/repair needs to Wig Shop Manager Collaborate on quick changes and run sheets with Wardrobe Team Attend Designer Run and distribute products during load-in Required Experience, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in wig application/styling and theatrical makeup Understanding of theatrical styles, conventions, and terminology Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision Background in theatre and production settings Preferred Qualifications Basic sewing and wig construction skills How to Apply Submit a cover letter and resume via the online job application, or mail/drop off to: Aurora Civic Center Authority ATTN: Kelly Lipsey, Crew Manager 8 East Galena Blvd., Suite 230 Aurora, IL 60506
