We are looking for talented technicians who have experience working as part of a technical team during installation, rehearsal, and delivery of event production. Specifically experience with basic lighting, sound, and theatre AV systems.
Job Description
This role forms a crucial part of the London College of Music Theatre Technical teams which is responsible for live event technical support. The role requires firm commitment throughout the theatre production cycle, with assignment to different production roles as required by the department. This may cover a range of responsibilities such as Stage Management, Sound Design, Sound Engineering, and Sound, Lighting or AV operation.

The post is responsible for operation, organisation, and maintenance of theatre technical systems for LCM productions and events at internal and external venues as required.

The role is based upon a 35-hour working week from Monday - Friday, however flexible working hours are required, often during evenings and weekends with any additional hours worked recuperated as time off in lieu.

The starting salary for this role will be from £29,786 to £35,589 per annum. Please be advised that it is expected that appointment within a grade will normally be at the minimum point.

Essential Requirements

Qualifications

-Degree in a relevant discipline and/or extensive professional experience.

Knowledge and Experience

-Strong experience in one or more of the following areas:

stage management, procurement and construction of rehearsal and show props

Ability to read and create technical drawings, and accurate marking up of spaces to designer's specification

working with both recorded and live audio within a performance environment

Experience utilising wired and wireless microphones in performance and conference setups

-Knowledge and Experience overseeing and promoting backstage health and safety

-Experience using Digital Mixing desks for live sound applications Basic experience using syntax-based lighting control systems

-Basic experience using show control software

-Knowledge and experience of basic technical theatre, including setup and operation of simple LX, Sound and AV systems Experience

Job Responsibilities
Setup and operation of Mixing desks, microphones, instruments and network audio infrastructure for Productions and Events.
Design, programming and operation of Sound Effects for theatrical performances.
Setup and operation of basic Lighting, Sound and AV systems as required.
Procurement and fabrication of Props and furnishing for LCM productions.
Accurate marking up of rehearsals rooms to set designer's specification.
Coordinating relevant requests from the various departments under pressure and keep to a deadline.
Setup and operation of basic Lighting, Sound and AV systems as required.
Management and organisation of the LCM prop store.
Assisting with production get in process, including construction and installation of stages and sets as part of the wider technical team.
Working in compliance with Health and Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment in LCM performance venues.
Ensuring that students comply with theatre and production rules and regulations.
