Description:
Charterhouse seeks to appoint, a Theatre Technical Manager who will be responsible for the safe and efficient day to day running of the Ben Travers Theatre by supporting the Director of Performing Arts in promoting excellence in the theatre within Charterhouse. To provide technical production expertise to all School and lettings productions.
Performing Arts at Charterhouse is an extremely fast growing and incredibly popular area of the school. It's very proudly acknowledged and recognised by all at Charterhouse as a very important part of what we offer.
Drama GCSE and Theatre A-Level see great numbers with strong results. Our co-curricular offering, with hundreds of students pouring through the theatre doors auditioning for the various plays and productions, provides the students with the chance to be part of something very special and goes from strength to strength.
We also offer a dance programme that is ever growing and with the Ben Travers Theatre building work starting - beginning our expansion - this is an exciting time to be part of the team. A team full of energy and passion and who care greatly about their subject.
A new studio theatre and classroom will be completed by Easter 2025. We need the space!
LAMDA continues to see extraordinary numbers too and we're very proud to have just performed our most successful show in Charterhouse history with 'Legally Blonde' playing 8 sold out performances and with nearly 2000 audience members through the doors of the Ben Travers Theatre ('BTT').
The BTT is a major part what makes Charterhouse so wonderfully welcoming with its unique ability to be both a professional theatre and a social space for students to come and unwind from their academic studies.
Our experienced team offer expertise and fun and have the drive to continue to make Charterhouse THE place to come to for Performing Arts.
