Description:Job Description / DutiesReporting to the Technical Director, the Theatre Lighting Tech is responsible for assisting in operating the 325-seat Mary Irwin Theatre. The Theatre Lighting Tech provides technical support, responds to inquiries and concerns from theatre users/rental clients, follows health and safety procedures, and adheres to technical requirements/policies as set out by the Technical Director. The successful applicant must be prepared and available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Reporting to the Technical Director, the RCA expects the Call Technician to: Be proficient in EOS programming Have experience running shows. Have video experience including Qlab Assist with load-ins, lighting hangs, sound installations, and strikes when required Participate in the mounting, rigging, and maintenance of scenic and technical elements Monitor stage, theatre, and atrium equipment safety procedures, checklists, and systems Maintain safety and cleanliness of all backstage and technical spaces Be available for entry and lock up for rentals in the space Effectively communicate and correspond with clients and Stage Managers Attend staff meetings as assigned Availability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and Stat Holidays Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications / Required Skills KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of ETC EOS programming Experience in lighting design Skill in organizing; ability to self-start in discharging responsibilities Must be self-motivated Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and the public Ability to enforce strict health and safety plans for all participants and patrons Additional Information Flexibility required to work evenings and weekends.
